EURO CUP 2015- VIXENS VICTORIOUS!

plane pic

In just their second European competition England Vixens have produced a dominant display throughout to be named Ladies Euro Cup champions 2015- how good does that sound!?

Vixens finished second in the 2014 competition to the Irish Banshees in a closely fought contest and with the absence of the Banshees for 2015 the Vixens were arguably favourites to take home the title which was contested by England, France, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the home nation Croatia.

The Vixens were nothing less than dominant in their Pool A fixtures against Sweden and France conceding just two behinds and scoring a total of 167 points.  This theme was to continue throughout the finals with Croatia failing to get a point on the board in the semi finals (England 88 d Croatia 0) and England taking out the final: England 54 d Denmark 6. This left England with not only incredible defensive stats but also proving their accuracy finishing the tournament with points for 309 and points against just 8.

Ian Baxter- England Vixens Head Coach said: “So very proud of my Vixens today. Gave everything I asked of them and then some more. To become European Champions is one thing but to do it in such style is another. The best thing about this group is that they are nowhere near their potential. The best is yet to come!”

Congratulations to the Vixens who made the team of the tournament: Rania Ramadan– Also named as best on ground in the Women’s final, Danni Saulter, Chloe Hall, Lea Cobham and another huge congratulations to coach Ian Baxter who was named Coach of the tournament.
