The History

The WWEAFL 9s (Women's Wales and England Australian Football League) was set up in 2021. It was formed as an expansion of the SEWARFL (South England and Wales Australian Football League) that started in 2018.

The SEWARFL originally consisted of Nottingham Scorpions, Cardiff Panthers and Sussex Swans. The Bristol Dockers joined in 2019. Now with a revamped logo and two more teams, the WWEAFL hopes to continue growing women's Australian rules football across the two countries

In its inaugural season, the competition will consists of a six-team round-robin format spread across three rounds. There will then be a Finals Day that will include a Grand Final, as well as placing finals for 3/4th and 5/6th.
